Rajamouli’s prestigious project RRR is setting new records even before its Theatrical Release. RRR Pre-Release business has surpassed the record set by Baahubali 2.
Baahubali 2 had a pre-release business of around 500 Cr back in 2017 which is still a record till today. According to reports, RRR Pre-Release business has fetched around 890 Cr which is almost 80% more than that of Baahubali 2.
Latest reports suggest that the Worldwide Theatrical Rights of this magnum opus have been sold at a whopping price of 570 Cr.
Here is the breakdown of Theatrical Rights:
Andhra and Nizam – 240 Cr
North India – 140 Cr
TamilNadu, Karnataka, Kerala – 108 Cr
Digital rights and satellite rights have been pegged at 300 Cr and the music has managed to fetch around 20 Cr. Looking at these numbers, it seems this record will be untouched until Rajamouli’s next film.
If the movie gets a positive response on the release day, it will surely set tremendous records at the box office. But considering the COVID situation, it is still not clear whether the movie will release on time.
With this record breaking business, the movie will need to collect more than 1000cr to break-even at the Boxoffice which is a humungous task.
RRR stars NTR, Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt, Olivia Morris in lead roles and Ajay Devgn. It is all set for a grand release on 13th October 2021.
