Kalyan Ram is back with his new film Amigos and the trailer has created decent buzz with the doppelganger concept. Let’s see if the movie can thrill the audience. Here is Amigos Movie Review:

STORY: Siddharth(Kalyan Ram) is an easy go guy who waits for the perfect girl to get married. He then sees Ishika(Ashika Ranganth) and falls in love with her but gets rejected as he couldn’t meet her rare criteria. One fine day, he comes to know about doppelganger concept and finds two lookalikes Michael and Manjunath Hegde. The three of them become friends and the story takes a turn when the true intentions of Michael are revealed.
On the other hand, Michael is an arms dealer who doesn’t hesitate to kill anyone. Whether Siddharth’s love succeeds and how he saved his family and friend Manjunath forms the rest of the story.
PERFORMANCES: Kalyan Ram did a good job and enacted all three different roles with ease. His dialogue delivery and the slang in all characters is good. Ashika Ranganth is cute and justified her role. However, the lip sync seemed missing for her dialogues. Brahmaji comedy timing was good and generates laughs with his screen presence.
Jaya Prakash gave settled performance. Other characters are brief and justified their roles.
TECHNICAL DEPARTMENT: Story was written well with a unique concept. However, the execution was flat as there was no thrilling moment throughout the film. Director Rajendra Reddy has failed to narrate the story in a gripping fashion. The songs are okay and the BGM is good but gives you the vibes of Kamal Haasan’s Vikram. The remake song Enno Rathrulostayi Kani looks good on big screen but the placement is wrong and the makers could have easily edited it out.
Cinematography is decent but there were too many slow motion shots. Editing was poor and action sequences should have been choreographed well. Dialogues and Production values are good.

VERDICT: Amigos is a passable thriller that has very few thrilling moments in the whole film. The major twists are predictable due to flat narration but the concept is unique. It is one time watchable
