Dasara Movie Review: Nani shines in a rustic action entertainer

Dasara

Dasara, starring Nani and Keerthy Suresh in the lead roles has finally hit the screens today. Directed by debutant Srikanth Odela, the movie has generated a lot of buzz among the audience, thanks to its intriguing trailer. So, let’s dive into Dasara movie review and see whether it has lived up to the expectations or not.

Dasara Movie Review

STORY:

The story of the movie revolves around three main characters Dharani (played by Nani), Vennela (played by Keerthy Suresh), and Soori (played by Dheekshith Shetty) who live in a village Veerlapalle in Godavarikhani. Chinna Nambi (played by Shine Tom Chaco) is a son of Shivanna (played by Samuthirakani) who can go to any extent to get what he wants and rules the Silk bar in the village.

Shivanna’s brother Rajanna (played by Sai Kumar), who fails to become Sarpanch many times, saves Dharani’s gang once from a police case. The main leads get into a quarrel with Chinna Nambi, and the rest of the story is about how they deal with the situation.

PERFORMANCES:

Nani has done an excellent job with his raw and rustic look. His performance was top-notch, and he has nailed the character of Dharani to perfection. Keerthy Suresh and Deekshith Shetty have also done well with their roles, and their chemistry with Nani was quite impressive. Sai Kumar and Shine Tom Chacko were good in their respective roles, and Jhansi has justified the role given to her.

Samuthirakani’s character was short and he puts in good performance as always. Poorna has justified the role given to her. All the other characters were brief and they have done well.

TECHNICAL DEPARTMENT:

Director Srikanth Odela has done an excellent job with the first half. Though the story seems routine he presented it very well with a raw and rustic ambience. Action sequences were composed well in the film. However, the second half lags a bit and fails to impress in some parts. The story gives the vibes of Sukumar’s Arya films and Rangasthalam

The music and background score are decent, and the songs are different and catchy. The dialogues are good and generate fun sometimes. The editing should have been better, as there were some scenes that could have been trimmed to keep the pace of the movie intact.

PLUS POINTS:

  • Nani, Keerthy Suresh
  • BGM
  • Songs

MINUS POINTS:

  • Predictable story
  • Lagging Second half
  • Editing

VERDICT:

Dasara is a mass action entertainer that has some emotional touch throughout. The movie has its moments of action, emotion, and comedy, which keep the audience engaged. The performances of the lead actors are top-notch and the film will be an eye feast for the fans. If you are okay with slow narration and predictable second half then this film might turn out to be a good watch.
