Trivikram’s Aravinda Sametha marked a return to good form for both him and Jr. NTR. The film opened last year during Dasara to good reviews and went on to make decent money at the box office.
With all the hype and popularity, the film’s TV premiere was expected to do extremely well. It recently premiered on Zee Telugu, but Aravinda Sametha TRP Ratings ended up doing slightly underwhelming numbers by registering a TRP of 13.5, the movie fell behind its counterparts.
Topping the list amongst the recent big releases is Vijay Devarakonda’s ‘Geetha Govindam’ with a rating of 20.1. ‘Rangasthalam’ came second with a TRP of 19.5 and Mahesh Babu’s ‘Bharath Ane Nenu’ scored 14.60.
The number four spot on this list still makes Aravinda Sametha a successful film as opposed to a few other big releases. Allu Arjun, whose recent outings have been mediocre, to say the least, had only one release in 2018 in the form of ‘Naa Peru Surya’ which scored a modest 12.15 TRP.
The shocker, however, was Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Agnyathavaasi’ which scored the lowest rating in 2018 of 6.11. This proves that the Word of Mouth (WOM) value of any film is high and remains intact for long periods.
