There is no introduction needed for Dhanush in Tollywood. Most of his films are dubbed in Telugu and many of them had a successful run at the boxoffice. The actor’s next is a bilingual film with Venky Atluri. The movie is titled as Vaathi in Tamil and Sir in Telugu.
The latest news is that the film’s post theatrical rights were acquired by Netflix. The OTT platform has reportedly paid a handsome amount for the rights. There have been reports earlier that streaming rights were acquired by Aha but it didn’t turn out to be.
The movie has a decent buzz and the recently released song “Mastaaru Mastaaru” is garnering great response all over. The film’s post production works are currently happening at a brisk pace and it is all set for a grand release on 17th February.
Directed by Venky Atluri, Sir features Dhanush and Samyuktha Menon in lead roles. The project is being bankrolled by Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas. The music is composed by G V Prakash Kumar.
Dhanush has recently scored a disaster with Naane Varuaven (Nene Vasthunna in Telugu) and we need to see whether he will score a hit with this period social drama.
