Sensational director Puri Jagannadh has wrapped up the shooting of his forthcoming film Mehbooba, which is likely to hit screens this summer. The movie stars Akash Puri, Neha Shetty, Vishnu Reddy in main roles with music from Sandeep Chowta and bankrolled by Puri himself.
The director announced the film on his birthday(28th Sep) and completed the shoot in a very short span in spite of the movie being in a war backdrop. His previous venture Paisa Vasool with Balakrishna didn’t perform to the expected levels at the Boxoffice.
Now he is back to his forte of heart touching love stories with Mehbooba, where his core strength lies. He gave us block blasters like Bhadri, Itlu Sravani Subramanyam, Idiot, Amma Nanna O Tamil Ammayi…etc, which fall under this genre.
Puri didn’t have an actor in mind while penning the Mehabooba script but later realized that the high intense and passionate love story in backdrop of 1971 Indo -Pakistani war will suit a younger actor and offered it to his son Akash Puri.
We very well know Akash Puri as a child artist in movies like Bujjigadu, Chirutha and Gabbar Singh where he impressed with his cute acting skills and got a good reignition from Prakash Raj’s directed movie Dhoni. He was officially launched with Andhra Pori which failed miserably at the Boxoffice.
However, Mehabooba will be the big re-launch of Akash and he is paring with Neha Shetty, recently we spotted him in gym with intense workouts for movie – “hard work definitely paid off” by this movie sure. The teaser which was released recently impressed the audience with its rich visuals, super BGM and Jagan trademark romance.
