The much-awaited Savitri Biopic ‘Mahanti’ is creating a sensation in the US as well as in India. The Movie received Rave reviews from the critics and the Word of Mouth from the audience is Excellent.
Before the release, there wasn’t much hype on the movie and producers Swapna Dutt and Ashwini Dutt released the movie on their own in all the areas of AP/TS.
With the movie now performing exceptionally well at the Boxoffice, the Producers have received a Whooping price for their Satellite Rights. Zee network have acquired the All-India rights for 11crs.
This is Huge considering that the movie cost around 20cr and the Satellite rights itself have recovered half of their Production budget. The movie is also doing Bumper business in Overseas as well and might end up a Blockbuster.
Latest news is that Amazon Prime is in talks with the Producers for the digital rights and the price may be around 4-5 crores.
The Producers took a gutsy decision by releasing the movie in AP/TS on their own by believing in their content and it seems the risk has paid off.
Keerthy Suresh played the title role as Savitri. The other cast includes Samantha Akkineni, Vijay Deverakonda, Dulquer Salman, Prakash Raj, Rajendra Prasad and Mohan Babu.
