Manmadhudu is a landmark movie of a kind for the Telugu Industry. The movie gave us both Trivikram and Nagarjuna in their best forms and also made ways to new forms of storytelling. The movie’s title too became has become the second name of sorts for King Nag.
If one were to announce a sequel to the movie, there would be a lot of skepticism. Sequels, especially to adored movies, are usually treated to be risky matters and actor-director Rahul Ravindran’s grand plan to make Manmadhudu 2 wasn’t treated any differently.
Rahul’s 2018 release Chi La Sow was received very well for its content and the production sense. The movie also revived actor Sushanth’s career in a way, who seemed to be fading away quite fast.
The film’s success also brought Rahul to Nagarjuna’s attention. For the past few months, Rahul had been pursuing Nag with multiple ideas and Manmadhudu 2 was one of them.
Nagarjuna was, for obvious reasons, a little doubtful of the prospect and chose to let it be for a while. It has now been revealed, as it turns out, that the actor has indeed agreed to go ahead and make the sequel.
Nagarjuna was impressed with the final draft of the script that Rahul himself penned and is excited to begin things. The first schedule will start in March at Portugal.
Rao Ramesh will be seen in an important role and announcements on the heroine would be made soon. This news will certainly come as a surprise to a lot of people and it’s only a matter of time before the teaser comes out to reveal more.
