Rajinikanth who has scored a moderate success with 2.0 is all set to enthrall the audience with his next Petta, to be directed by Karthik Subbaraj.
It is already known that Petta will hit the screens on the eve of Pongal. However, Telugu audiences might not get to see it during that festive period.
According to the latest buzz, C Kalyan who has bought the rights for the Telugu version is finding it hard to get any theaters. With NTR Biopic, Vinaya Vidheya Rama and F2 releasing on Sankranthi, the distributors are unwilling to adjust theaters to Petta.
Most of the good theaters are already booked and with these Telugu biggies, it is unlikely that Petta would get many shows even at Multiplexes.
The veteran producer is now planning to push the release date and is eyeing the 25th Jan/2nd Feb slot. This will be the first time in almost a decade that a Rajinikanth film wouldn’t parallel release in Telugu.
With Piracy being rampant currently, it remains to be seen if this delayed release will cause more problems to C Kalyan. We will have to wait for an Official announcement.
