Vaarasudu is all set for a grand release on 14th January on the occasion of Sankranti. The film’s release was little delayed to allocate more screens for direct Telugu releases Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy. However, the Tamil version titled Varisu has hit the screens today and has garnered mixed responses.
The latest news is that the digital streaming partner of Vaarasudu is sealed. Amazon Prime Video has acquired the post theatrical streaming rights. It has reportedly paid a handsome amount for the family entertainer.
Directed by Vamshi Paidipally, Vaarasudu features Vijay and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles. The film was bankrolled by Dil Raju under Sri Venkateswara Creations banner. Thaman has composed the soundtracks.
The movie has a disadvantage as other two biggies namely Balakrishna’s Veera Simha Reddy s and Chiranjeevi’s Waltair Veerayya have become talk of the town. However, as Vaarasudu is touted to be a complete family entertainer and releasing during the perfect season, people might prefer Vijay’s film. It remains to be seen which will emerge as a Sankranti winner.
Vijay will next work with Lokesh Kanagaraj for a film which is tentatively called Thalapathy67. There are huge expectations on this combo as the duo already delivered a solid hit in the form of Master.
