Tamil movie star Chiyaan Vikram will soon be seen playing the titular character in ‘Mahavir Karna’, an epic mythology movie told in Karna’s perspective.
The actor has been preparing intensely for the role which requires a lot of gravitas. Vikram is known to take up parts and work on them with incredible dedication.
He has done several big-budgeted films in the past but none in the mythology genre. Mahavir Karna has also gained popularity for being one of the most expensive Indian films ever made.
The overall budget of the film is estimated to be 300 crores, a heavy number by all means.
The film has finally entered production, according to sources, with a schedule in Hyderabad that kick-started things. A massive set has been erected to recreate the Kurukshetra war episode.
Several films, of late, have been mounted on such large scales. Massive set-pieces are being erected to support grand visions and new talent is coming forth in the process too.
RS Vimal, who made his debut with the Malayalam film ‘Ennu Ninte Moideen’, will be directing the Karna project. This will be his second venture.
The film will be dubbed in 32 Indian and foreign languages, making it the biggest worldwide release in Indian film history. New York based production house United Film Kingdom is producing the film.
