Awe fame Prasanth Varma has announced his third film Zombie Reddy during lockdown with a caption “Corona Virus is just a beginning”. The movie got decent hype since it’s inception and the trailer fueled the expectations promising a solid entertainer. Let’s see whether the film lives up to its hype. Here is the Zombie Reddy Movie Review.
Zombie Reddy Movie Review
STORY: Mario(Teja Sajja) is a game designer and launches a new game along with his friends. When there is an issue with the game code, Mario along with his friends heads to a small village near Kurnool to get the code fixed by his friend (RJ Hemanth). On the way, Teja’s friend(Kireeti) gets bitten by a zombie and starts showing strange symptoms.
Eventually, it becomes even more intensive when everyone in the village gets affected and starts becoming zombies. Whether and how Mario gets a solution for this situation forms the rest of the story.
PERFORMANCES: Teja Sajja is decent in his debut film. He is quite good with his screen presence and acted well in emotional scenes. Heroine Anandi is neat and impressive. Getup Seenu has nailed it. He steals the show with his comedy timing and expressions. Daksha Nagarkar has justified the role given to her.
RJ Hemanth and Kireeti performed well and generated laughs. 30 years industry Pruthvi was decent in his role. The two actors who played as factionists have also done a good job.
TECHNICAL DEPARTMENT: Director Prasanth Varma has done an excellent job in bringing the zombie concept with a faction backdrop. However, he should have fastened up the proceedings in the first half. The first half looks a little dull until the zombies enter the scene. The climax will divide opinion and it seems a bit illogical.
Special mention should be given to the makeup department as the zombie getup looks impressive despite being a low budget film. Songs are catchy and so are the lyrics. BGM was decent. Cinematography is apt and Editing should have been better. The camera work and Production values are good.
PLUS POINTS:
- Story
- Comedy
- Music
MINUS POINTS:
- First Half
- Climax logic
VERDICT: Zombie Reddy is a decent entertainer that has some very good comedy scenes in the second half. Though the narration seems a bit lagging in the first half it keeps you engaged till the last frame. If you ignore the lagging first 30 mins and the climax logic, the movie delivers on it’s expectations.
