Team RRR has been going through difficult times in finding a female lead for their mega project. There were many contenders were the role, including some of the top southern actresses.
The focus then shifted to Bollywood’s Parineeti Chopra but things did not materialize there. The makers, however, went on with their shooting duties and hoped that something positive would turn up in the matter. Well, it looks like it indeed has happened that way.
Sources from the inside claim that Rajamouli and Co. have managed to get Alia Bhatt on board to romance Ram Charan and Jr. NTR. The actress, apparently, was being pursued for quite some time but there were remuneration issues to deal with.
The payment problem has now been dealt with and the actress has wholeheartedly agreed to star in the film. She would be the second Bollywood actor, after Ajay Devgn, to be a part of this film. There is still, however, an official announcement pending to confirm these reports.
As far as the film’s concerned, recent reports suggest that it traverses both pre-independence and modern eras with Ram Charan portraying multiple characters. It would be interesting to see how Alia Bhatt fits in the story. A foreign actress is reportedly is being cast as the second female lead.
Rajamouli has already established himself as a pan-India filmmaker and Alia Bhatt inclusion would certainly bring in more attention as far as the reach of the film’s concerned.
