RRR has made headlines all over the world by winning a Golden Globe award in best original song category for Naatu Naatu. There were huge expectations that film will win the Best Non-English film award but it lost to Argentina 1985, a film based on real events.
Naatu Naatu song is composed by MM Keeravani and the lyrics were written by Chandrabose. Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava have crooned the song while the choreography was done by Prem Rakshith.
Now, Tollywood is eagerly waiting to see whether RRR makes it to Oscars and wins the award. The Naatu Naatu song is already shortlisted for Oscars. We will know by January 24th, whether the song makes it to nominations list. The Oscars award ceremony will be held on March 12th.
Directed by SS Rajamouli, RRR features Ram Charan and NTR in lead roles reprising the freedom fighters Alluri Sitaramaraju and Komaram Bheem respectively. MM Keervani has composed the music while DVV Danayya produced the film under DVV Entertainments. The film also features Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgan, Shriya Saran, Samuthirakani, Rey Stevenson, Alison Doody and Olivia Morris in key roles.
Made with a budget of ₹550cr, the film has collected ₹1200cr at the worldwide boxoffice. It will be a great achievement for Indian cinema if the film wins the Oscar award.
