Baahubali 2 which has broken every possible record in Indian cinema, has got a release date in China.
The movie released Worldwide on April 28th except for few Asian markets like Japan and China. The Rajamouli directorial has collected over 1800+ crores and this record-breaking run will end with the China release on May 4th.
It has recently released in Japan, which is a difficult market to penetrate even for Bollywood Movies. However, Baahubali 2 has created wonders there, where it has already crossed over $1Million dollars and completed 100 days there recently.
The China release will be handled by E Stars Media which already released Baahubali there. Recently Bollywood Movies like Dangal, Secret Superstar, Bhajrangi Bhaijan have grossed big numbers at the Chinese Box office surpassing their Indian revenues with ease.
Now, Baahubali 2 is eyeing for a big release and the makers are planning a lot of promotional activities there to increase the hype.
The delay in release is due to the fact that unlike other countries, the release dates of foreign movies are controlled by the local body and the ultimate decision on the release will lie with them.
The other major fact is that the makers will only receive 25% of the grosses from China, unlike other parts of the world where the Distributors/Producers get almost 50-60% of the grosses.
These days most of the Indian makers are trying hard to have a simultaneous in China like few Hollywood blockbusters and looks like in Few years, Indian Movies will compete directly in both collections and release dates.
