Guru made a very good start at the Boxoffice collecting around 2.5cr on its opening day, performing well above expectations.
The Venkatesh starrer made a decent start in the morning but picked up very well in the evening showing big jumps. The WOM is terrific, and with Venkatesh’s following among the family audiences the movie will see some big numbers over the next few days.
Guru was released by Suresh Babu throughout the Telugu states and the movie is reportedly valued at around 15cr. The start will mean it has a good chance of becoming a SUPER HIT. Here is the area wise break-up.

Considering the genre of the movie it is a wonderful start and the weekend should be around the 8-9cr without a doubt. For a comparison, Drushyam which also starred Venkatesh and of a similar genre collected around 1.5cr on its 1st day but went on to mint 20cr in its full run.
