Kaala release to be postponed, might release this Eid

It seems the wait of Rajinikanth fans to see their idol back on screen just got longer with reports claiming that Kaala will be postponed.

The producers earlier this year announced that the movie will release on April 27th Worldwide, but it seems the Rajinikanth starrer will not make it to theaters as initially expected.

The ongoing strike by Tamilnadu Producer’s Council(TFPC) has ensured that no new Tamil movies will release. The tussle between the council and Digital service providers(DSP) has been going on for a while and the deadlock is continuing to hit movie business in the state.

With no end in sight, it seems the makers have decided to push the release date and as per reports, they are eyeing a June release possible Eid. There has been no official announcement yet, but some news is expected in the next day or two as both parties meet once again on April 17th.

For the fans though it has been a long wait, as initially 2.0 was expected to release on Diwali last year but even after multiple delays, there hasn’t been a concrete update on when the Shankar directorial will ultimately release.

Kaala has huge expectations as this will be the first release for Rajinikanth since he announced the launch of his political party, so everyone is eagerly awaiting the movie’s release.

The movie is set in the backdrop of Mumbai and is billed as a gangster drama. The film has an ensemble cast including Bollywood stars Nana Patekar and Huma Qureshi.

Kaala is being directed by Pa Ranjit, who earlier worked with Rajinikanth on Kabali. The movie is being bankrolled by Rajini’s son-in-law Dhanush under his Wunderbar Films.
