Superstar Mahesh Babu’s Maharshi has been performing well in the domestic market in some areas. However, the film looks like it will end up in losses in some areas in India as well as Overseas.
This is a shocking factor as Overseas is known to be one of the Superstars biggest markets. As of now, the movie has made around $1.84M.
The run is basically over and it will have no chance of touching the magical $2M mark. What is even more shocking is that film is doing well in most areas in the domestic market but not overseas.
This is the first time that we have witnessed this for a Mahesh Babu’s movie. Maharshi will have at least a 2 crore loss in the overseas market. Luckily, the distributor made an agreement with producer Dil Raju to share profit and losses.
According to the agreement, Dil Raju will have to share half of the losses meaning he will have to take 1 crore loss. The overseas distributor Great India Films will take the rest of the losses.
On the positive side, the movie was sold for a lot less than Superstars previous movies. We can see that has somewhat benefitted the distributors or else they would’ve ended up in huge losses
