Ranga Maarthaanda now streaming on Amazon Prime

Rangamarthanda

Krishna Vamsi’s most recent theatrical release, Ranga Maarthaanda, hit cinemas on March 22, 2023. The film features Prakash Raj, Ramya Krishnan, and Brahmanandam in pivotal roles.

The latest update is that the movie has quietly made its debut on Amazon Prime Video. The movie has made its OTT debut just 2 weeks after the theatrical release. The movie was produced by Housefull Movies and Rajashyamala Entertainments, with Shivathmika Rajashekar, Rahul Sipligunj, Adarsh Balakrishna, and Anasuya Bharadwaj playing crucial roles.

Ranga Maarthaanda is an official remake of the Marathi blockbuster Natsamrat, directed by Mahesh Manjrekar. The film revolves around the tragic family life of a stage artist, played by Nana Patekar in the original. The story mainly focuses on family dynamics and the generation gap between parents and children.

Krishna Vamsi has returned to filmmaking after a gap of almost six years, with his previous film, Nakshatram, performing poorly at the box office. The director, who was once known for his adept handling of family emotions, is back with a heartfelt emotional drama in Ranga Maarthaanda. The film’s music has been composed by Ilayaraja.

Though the film had received positive reviews from its special shows and theatrical release, it has failed to generate significant revenue at the boxoffice. It remains to be seen how it will be received on the streaming platform.
