Sarileru Neekevvaru Movie Review

STORY: Ajay(Mahesh Babu) is a daring Indian Army officer working at the border. During a military operation, the team will end up in an abrupt situation which leads Ajay to Kurnool to complete a task on moral grounds.

Situations suddenly change hereafter as Ajay finds out that Bharathi(Vijayashanthi) a Medical Professor in Kurnool whom he was supposed to meet is in big trouble caused by the local minister played by Prakash Raj. How Ajay solves the problems of Bharathi and saves her family from the goons forms the rest of the story.

PERFORMANCES: Mahesh Babu has nailed it as an Army officer. His comedy timing, action sequences and looks, everything was superb. He is one man Army in the film. Vijayashanthi was given a full-length role and she has done a great job. It’s a perfect role for her comeback. Prakash Raj has done a fantastic job in his role and he too creates a laugh with his dialogues.

Rashmika was given a sweet role and she generated enough laughs with her cute dialogues and expressions. Rao Ramesh, Rajendra Prasad, Sangeetha were given important supporting roles and they all performed well and evoke laughs. Vennela Kishore and Subbaraju were given short roles and they too performed well. Bandla Ganesh role hardly generated a laugh.

TECHNICAL DEPARTMENT: Anil Ravipudi has done a great job in clubbing entertainment with a deep message. His trademark comedy also worked well throughout the film. Editing for the second half should have been better, as it looks the bits and were just stitched together.

Background music and songs from Devi Sri Prasad were decent. Mind Block song is a feast for MB fans but it is wrongly placed in the film. Choreography from Shekar Master was good. Set for Kurnool Kondareddy Buruju was simply superb and all the action sequences there have come out well. Production values are rich.

PLUS POINTS:

  • Mahesh Babu
  • Entertainment
  • BGM
  • Patriotic elements
  • Climax

MINUS POINTS:

  • First 20 mins are Dull
  • Mind Block pops up abruptly
  • Thin Storyline

VERDICT: Sarileru Neekevvaru is an action-packed entertainer with a deep message inside it. Though the first half lags a bit at the start, it is engaging towards the interval. Comedy in the train sequence is good and the interval bang is impressive.

The second half has some patriotic elements and some solid heroism for the masses. The climax looks different and there will be mixed responses.
