Dhanush starrer bilingual film Sir had hit the screens on 17th February. The movie had a decent buzz before release and the trailer has promised a good social drama. The film is garnering positive responses all over and is having a dream run at the boxoffice. The Tamil version Vaathi is also doing well in Tamil Nadu.
The latest update is that the movie has collected 15.7cr Gross in its first weekend. This is the highest for any Dhanush film released so far in Telugu. According to reports, the movie has already attained the breakeven in almost everywhere in the Telugu states. The movie has reportedly collected 51cr Gross at the worldwide boxoffice. It remains to be seen how it performs on Monday. Sir has managed to get decent footfalls despite another film Vinaro Bhagyamu Vishnu Katha which was promoted well and also got good reviews.
Directed by Venky Atluri, Sir features Dhanush and Samyuktha Menon in lead roles. The project was bankrolled by Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas. The music was composed by G V Prakash Kumar.
Dhanush is currently working for Captain Miller under the direction of Arun Matheswaran. He will soon work in Vada Chennai 2 which will be directed by Vetrimaaran. However, the project is yet to go on floors.
