Sita Movie Review

Sita is a film being directed by Teja and starring Bellamkonda Srinivas and Kajal Aggrawal in lead roles. The film was promoted as a female-centric film and was receiving a positive buzz. Let’s have a look at Sita Movie Review.

Sita Movie Review

STORY: Constructions company owner SITA(Kajal Aggarwal) signs a crazy agreement with a Goonda MLA Basavaraj(Sonu Sood) to demolish the houses in a slum area. In return, she agrees to have a one-month live-in relationship with the MLA. Upon completing his task, he gets a shock from Sita as she back away from her promise.

Meanwhile, Sita goes to Bhutan to meet Ram(Sai Srinivas). MLA Basavaraj chases them and Ram unknowingly rescues her in few instances. The effort to capture them forms the rest of the story.

PERFORMANCES: Bellamkonda Srinivas did good but his role had a very poor characterization and makes us think about why he accepted this role. Kajal completely dominates the show and carries the film on her shoulders.

One of her best performances. Sonu Sood did a nice job and the comedy scenes involving him were good. Tanikella Bharani did a great job in a small comic role. Raghu Ram was okay. Item song by Payal Rajput was good.

TECHNICAL DEPARTMENTS: Teja tried to tell a female-centric film in an entertaining way. However, the screenplay becomes routine and the second half kills the movie. Dialogues were decent and evoke laughter in a few scenes with the villain.

Music and BGM by Anup Rubens were apt for the movie. Production values by AK Entertainments were okay.

PLUS POINTS:

  • Bullreddy Song
  • Kajal
  • Comedy Scenes

MINUS POINTS:

  • Weak Screenplay
  • Hero Characterization
  • Routine Scenes
  • No Emotional Connect

VERDICT: Sita is a story that could’ve been told in a more entertaining way. However, the director does not do justice. Throughout the film, we expect some high moments but there are very few. On the flip side, Bullreddy song, Kajal, and some comedy scenes were good but could not save the film.

The first half is a little better when compared to the second half. Director Teja still has to wait for another success. The film will not perform well at the box office.
