Thalapathy Vijay’s next after Sarkar will be directed by Atlee, who has already delivered 2 blockbusters with the actor.
‘Theri’ and ‘Mersal’ turned out to be the biggest hits in Vijay’s career and both of them were directed by Atlee. Both of those fetched decent money at the box-office and Thalapathy was able to establish his market in Telugu successfully.
Atlee has given a hint via social media that the movie will be a sports drama and Vijay will be seen as a coach in this movie. This is the first time Vijay will play a sports coach. We will have to wait for further details to be announced.
We have seen Venky and Madhavan playing as a Boxing Coach in recent movie Guru and became a hit in both the versions. Nani is also working on a sports-based film Jersey. Looks like this genre might create a trend in the South.
Vijay has recently delivered a super hit at the box-office with Sarkar and movie is fetching decent collections in Telugu too.
This high budget sports drama is produced by AGS Cinemas and regular shoot will commence from January. AR Rehman has been roped in as a music director for this movie. More details of the cast crew are yet to be announced.
