Indian 2 controversy continues

Indian 2

Shankar directorial Indian 2 has been in the news for various reasons for the past year. The film’s shooting got halted many times due to different issues. The producers of the film have recently approached the Madras High court against Shankar as he’s moved on to another project before completing Indian 2.

Lyca Productions in their petition have claimed that they have already spent 180cr on Indian 2 and 50 days shoot is still pending. The court has asked the Production house to try and settle things out of court. Shankar responded by saying that he will be able to complete the project by July end so that he can move on to his next project in August. However, discussions didn’t go as per plan and Kamal Haasan had to pitch in to find an amicable solution. It is still unclear what’s the outcome of the discussion.

The latest news is that Shankar has hit back with a counter-petition on Lyca productions stating the reasons for the delay. Shankar has claimed that he wanted to complete the shoot last year, but the producers have asked him to shoot with a minimum crew and reduce the budget which he didn’t agree to.

Also, due to an accident at the shoot, 3 crew members died. Meanwhile, the pandemic got worse and Kamal Haasan moved to Lokesh Kanagaraj film Vikram. So the director has also moved on to his next project with Ram Charan. He also has another project with Ranveer Singh.

Whatever may be the case, we hope these issues get solved soon and we are eagerly waiting to see Senapathy on the big screen.
