Anushka Shetty has earlier impressed the audience with her heroine-centric thrillers Arundhati and Bhaagamathie and she is yet again coming back with another thriller titled Nishabdham.
Nishabdham was initially scheduled to release on 31st Jan 2020. But due to various reasons, makers have postponed the release to 2nd April. However, due to the lockdown, there is no clarity on the new release date.
Most of the small films which were supposed to hit screens now are going for a direct release on digital platforms. Recently reports stated that makers of Nishabdham too are in contact with various digital platforms to release the film on the OTT platform, but the makers have rubbished the reports, claiming the film will definitely have a theatrical release.
However, director Hemanth Madhukar has hinted that film may have a direct digital release. He revealed that as of now only Telugu version of the film is completed and Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam versions are yet to be completed.
He added that once lockdown is lifted and based on the completion of the work they will arrive at a decision on the film’s release and if most of the films go for an OTT release they too might follow suit.
“The producers will take the final call to release the film in theatres or in digital platforms as per the situations post lockdown. If the majority of the films release on OTT platforms, Nishabdham too may get a digital release before the theatrical release” said Hemanth Madhukar.
The film also stars R Madhavan, Shalini Pandey, Anjali in lead roles. People Media Factory and Kona Film Corporation are producing the film together.
