Seetimaarr Review : A Passable Action Entertainer

Seetimaarr

Seetimaarr is one of the bigger films to hit the screens post the second wave. Gopichand has been looking for a solid hit with this movie and let’s see whether Sampath Nandi delivered a solid mass entertainer as promised. Here is Seetimaarr Movie Review:

Seetimaarr Movie Review

STORY:

Karthik(Gopichand) is an assistant bank manager and also coaches a school women’s Kabaddi team in Andhra Pradesh. His main motto is to save the school by winning the National Kabaddi Championship and gaining fame. He manages to take his team to Delhi for the Championship despite many hurdles. Eventually, the story takes a turn when the team gets kidnapped. Who kidnapped them and whether Karthik will bring them back with the help of Jwala Reddy(Tamannah) forms the rest of the story.

PERFORMANCES:

Gopichand has nailed it, his performance as a Kabaddi coach was top notch. His energy levels are high in action sequences and the actor also handled emotional scenes well. Tamannah puts in a decent performance as the Telangana Kabaddi coach. Her body language and dialogue delivery are apt.

Antagonist Tarun Arora has put in a performance to remember. Bhoomika’s screen presence was short but she has done well. Rahman as a cop looks good and justifies the role. The girls in the Kabaddi team gave decent performances.

TECHNICAL DEPARTMENT:

Director Sampath Nandi has done an okay job throughout the film. Though the story seems routine he presented it very well in the first half and sets the mood for the second half. However, the second half is dragging and there are many over the top scenes. Many logics have gone for a toss in the second half.

Production values are good and each frame looks rich. BGM is apt and songs are ok but spoil the flow of the film with wrong placement. The cinematography is decent but Editing should have been done better. Dialogues were good. Kabaddi matches should have been shown in a more gripping manner.

PLUS POINTS:

  • Gopichand and Tamannah
  • Action scenes
  • Dialogues

MINUS POINTS:

  • Routine story
  • Second-half
  • Over the top scenes

VERDICT:

Seetimarr is a mass entertainer that has some gripping moments every now and then. Though the story seems routine, it keeps you engaged in the first half and some parts of the second half. If you ignore some logics and over the top scenes then this is a good watch for action lovers.
