Vivaha Bhojanambu

Comedian Satya turned hero with Vivaha Bhojanambu and the film has released directly on Sony Liv by skipping theatrical release. Actor Sundeep Kishan has produced this comedy entertainer which has coronavirus lockdown backdrop. Here is Vivaha Bhojanambu review.

Vivaha Bhojanambu Movie Review

STORY: Mahesh(Satya) is middle-class person who works as a LIC agent. He is a miser and falls in love with a rich girl Anitha(Aarjavee Raj) who is the daughter of business personality Srikanth Iyenger. Anitha’s father accepts the marriage with reluctance. As per Anitha’s family tradition, the engagement and wedding have to be done by Groom’s family. Though Mahesh is worried about the expenses, he accepts.

During the wedding, PM Modi announces lockdown due to coronavirus and the whole bride’s family gets struck in Mahesh’s house. How Mahesh handles the family and why he is so reluctant to spend money forms the rest of the story.

PERFORMANCES: Satya is impressive as a middle-class person and is convincing as a hero. He generates laughs with his sarcastic dialogues and the scenes where he desperately tries to save money generates plenty of fun. Aarjavee Raj is cute and did her role well. Srikanth Iyenger gets a meaty role and evokes laughs with his screen presence.

Sundeep Kishan is seen in a cameo role and impresses with his Nellore slang. Sivannarayana and Sudarashan have performed well and their comedy timing is good. TNR is decent in his role and we really miss him. All the other characters have justified the roles given to them.

TECHNICAL DEPARTMENT: Director Ram Abbaraju has done an okay job with the film. Though the story is predictable, the director has filled the film with comedy scenes that saves the day. The climax portion is not so convincing and should have been done better. Dialogues are good, production values are okay and the cinematography is decent.

PLUS POINTS:
Performances
Comedy

MINUS POINTS:
Predictable story
The climax is not convincing.

VERDICT: In spite of its shortcomings, Vivaha Bhojanambu is a decent entertainer that has the potential to impress all sections of the audience. Though the story is predictable, the film has many fun moments and makes it a passable watch for this weekend.
